The Linn County Fire Defense Board has declared a total burn ban starting Thursday at 8 a.m. and will continue through Sunday due to a Red Flag Warning.
The National Weather Service is expecting an east wind event on Friday and Saturday, and dissipating Sunday. Linn County could see a drop in relative humidity, increased winds up to 20+ mph, and increased temperatures near or above 100 degrees. These are CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS. The Labor Day fires of 2020 occurred during an east wind event.
